This weekend at the Hester Street Fair, it’s a new social initiative, “Hester Gives.” There will be all kinds of activities, including yoga, massages, screen-printing and interactive workshops. Ten percent of the proceeds go to Community of Unity, an organization to empower students all over the world.
There will be 30 minute yoga sessions on the lawn at 10 and 11 a.m. led by Khalsa Kaur, “a yoga instructor, Energy Healer and filmmaker who lives a nomadic lifestyle across the great turtle island.” Participants must bring their own mat. If you’d like another stress reliever, there will also be a massage chair at the fair. Rockaways’ Veggie Island will also be at the market with a selection of fresh produce. And there will be a live seed ball making demonstration.
