Hester Street Alum Macaron Parlour Opening EV Store

Must Read

Christina Ha and Simon Tung of Macaron Parlour have signed a lease for 1,200 square feet on St. Marks Place, where they plan to launch their first brick-and-mortar outpost this summer.

Last summer, riding a wave of Hester Street Fair success, Macaron Parlour’s Christina Ha and Simon Tung shared with us their dream of someday opening their own standalone store. Not quite a year later, they have reached their goal.

The couple has signed a lease for 1,200 square feet of retail space at 111 St. Marks Place, between Avenue A and First Avenue, according to The Real Deal.

In a conversation with Serious Eats last week, Ha and Tung (who are also engaged to be married this year) described the new store as part cafe, part store, part production space and part classroom. The store will sell products by other local food artisans as well as the French-inspired confections in which they specialize.

Fans who enjoy their goodies at the Hester Street Fair need not be worried about trekking north; Ha and Tung plan to return to the market this season, as well.
