Must Read

In the last couple of weeks we’ve been keeping track of New Year’s Eve happenings on the Lower East Side. You can see our previous posts here, here and here.  There are  only four days to go before the big night, so if you plan to partake, time is running short!

A lot of the big events, including Patti Smith at Bowery Ballroom, are already sold out.  As previously mentioned, Deadmu5 (the canadian electronic music sensation) is at pier 36. General admission tickets for (ouch!) $215 are still available. The $15,000 “Best in Mau5 Exclusive Stage VIP Bottle Package” are all sold out!

Assembly of Dust is at Mercury Lounge; Gentleman Hall is at Pianos; Marcelo C. and Amylulita are dj’ing the Nacotheque end of the year celebration at Fontana’s; the Damnwells are at Rockwood Music Hall;  Waiting For Bobby presents the New Year’s Eve Masquerade Ball at The Delancey; Roxy Cottontail and Jasmine Solano are spinning at Tammany Hall; The Renaldo The Ensemble is at The Living Room; and R&R Karaoke is at Arlene’s Grocery.

A couple more ideas from the in-box:

  • Pizza a Casa is kicking off the New Year by “breaking in the restaurant component of their pizza school and store.”   More details: “With (a) newly installed commercial pizza oven and hot-off-the-press beer/wine license, Mark Bello and his team will craft a decadent New Year’s Eve pizza feast including an assortment of antipasti, a flight of gourmet pizzas, non-stop red and white wine, Sixpoint beers and a toast with Italian bubbles at midnight.  Deliciousness is guaranteed, seating is very limited and reservations are required.  $195 (plus tax) per person, ages 21 and up only. “
  • At The Nuyorican Poets Cafe:  Latin Jazz percussionist Bobby Sanabria and Quarteto Ache, featuring a special performance by poet/songstress/comedienne La Bruja.

And finally if you just want to have a nice meal, there are a few reservations still available on Open Table. Among your options: Antibes Bistro (8 p.m.), Bacaro (10 p.m.), Fatta Cuckoo (9 p.m.), Lina Frey (10 p.m.), Mary Queen of Scots (8 p.m.), Salt Bar (9 p.m.), Sorella (8 p.m.), Tre (8:30 p.m), Zoe (8 p.m.)
