Tomorrow night at the Mark Miller Gallery on Orchard Street there’s a special, one-night-only exhibition under the auspices of an organization called , “Our Eyes, Our Lives.” New York photographer Emily Anne Epstein started the volunteer group to “empower disenfranchised populations through photojournalism programs.”
Her latest project was conducted with residents of the Barrier Free Living homeless shelter on East 2nd Street. After a one-month basically photography class, students put what they’ve learned to work — but more importantly get to express themselves through their own photographic images. The residents’ work will be on display tomorrow night. All proceeds from the sale of the students’ images support the Barrier Free Living facility.
The show takes place tomorrow from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Mark Miller Gallery, 92 Orchard Street.
