Here’s a reminder that NYC Apple Day is coming up this Sunday on, where else, Orchard Street. This year, the event features an all-new apple pie eating contest. Some of the nation’s most feared competitive eaters will be taking part, along with a slate of amateurs (there’s still room for one more amateur contestant). We hear Mike “Hambone Little” of Lost Weekend NYC, will be one of the amateur competitors.
There will also be lots of food, music and entertainment for visitors of all ages. Henry Street Settlement, the Tenement Museum, the LES Ecology Center, the New Museum, Chabad of the LES and the Mark Miller Gallery will all be represented.
Apple Day, sponsored by the LES Business Improvement District, takes place between 11 a.m.-4:30 p.m., between Broome and Grand streets. Check out the full list of food vendors after the jump.
