- The successor to Bunny Chow makes its debut online (see above) and, Bowery Boogie says, workers inside Interstate Food & Liquor (74 Orchard) were talking about a Wednesday opening. UPDATE 1 p.m. – @interstatenyc tweets that they’ll be opening Thursday.
- Next weekend the New Amsterdam Market brings back its Ice Cream Sunday.
- Rona Economou of Boubouki in the Essex Street Market has no regrets about pursuing her dream, even though starting a small business is really hard work.
- Census shows (surprise!) a lot of new restaurants opened on the LES in the past decade.
