A Big Welcome to Our Summer Writing Intern!

In the last few weeks you may have noticed a new “author” posting news stories on The Lo-Down.  Now we’d like you to officially meet Nancy Ryerson, our summer intern. Nancy is studying journalism at NYU and has a particular passion for covering Chinatown.  Since Chinatown is an important part of our coverage area, we’re particularly happy to have Nancy on the team! Nancy has her own blog, which you can check out here. She’s also on twitter at @nancyjean19.

After the fireworks last night, it’s going to feel as hot as a firecracker today. Sunny skies and a high of 92. Our Calendar is freshly updated to start the new month; you can find info about all sorts of Lower East Side events. Remember — we welcome your event submissions. You can self-submit directly from our Calendar page.
