More on the fatal shooting last night on Pitt Street. Unnamed Daily News sources say the murder happened “close to the home of someone who took out an order of protection against” the victim, 23-year old Jonathan Alston of Brooklyn.

According to the News, three or four people ran up to Alston, around 12:30 a.m., near the Mini-Munchies Pizzeria, and shot him multiple times in the head. More details from the article:

Police sources said Alston had recently been jailed for violating an order of protection taken out against him by someone living on Pitt St. Court records show Alston had been arrested in the same precinct on March 18. It’s unclear if the original order was renewed after his release.
