DNA Info reports a 41-year old woman was robbed and raped in Sara D. Roosevelt Park at about 2 a.m. this past Thursday morning. Police have arrested a suspect, 31-year old Yeison Riano, of Queens. More from NYC Park Advocates via A Walk in the Park NYC:
Observant NYPD officers saw… Riano leaving the scene. The alleged incendent occurred in Sara D Roosevelt Park at Stanton & Forsythe St. (opposite 204 Forsythe St.) on Thursday June 23rd… according to law enforcement sources. The victim was treated at Beth Israel Hospital. The (alleged) assailant – who lives off the Van Wyck Expressway in Queens – was transported to the 5th Precinct. Riano was charged with 1st Degree Rape, Rape of a helpless individual, and Robbery.
According to DNA Info, Raino was released yesterday on $10,000 bail.
