The woman found dead yesterday afternoon in an apartment at 101 Stanton St. has been identified by police as 49-year-old Felicia Cruz, who lived a few blocks away at 10 Stanton St. The medical examiner is still investigating the cause of death, police said.
Her ex-boyfriend, 58-year-old Miguel Pena, who was led away from the scene in handcuffs, has been charged with second-degree murder, according to an NYPD spokeswoman. Pena’s address is listed as Apt. #14 in the building where the body was discovered shortly after 1 p.m. yesterday.
The New York Daily News is reporting this morning that Cruz’s body was found wrapped in a sheet of plastic. DNAinfo has more on Cruz’s story: she was a mother of two sons and worked as a home health aide, according to family members.
