Double Prosperity on the Lower East Side. Some people think Prosperity Dumpling at 46 Eldridge Street turns out the best dumplings in the neighborhood. A second branch, at 69 Clinton, has now opened for business.
The menu is almost identical – you get four dumplings for a buck. There are also sesame pancakes ($1), chicken corn soup ($1.25), brisket noodle soup ($4) and other items. A bag of 50 frozen dumplings costs $10.
The second location is about twice the size of the original (which is to say still tiny). But there are a few more counter seats if you must devour your purchases on the spot.
