TienGarden, 170 Allen Street, For Sale

Must Read

It looks like the neighborhood is losing a vegan/vegetarian option. The owners of TienGarden, 170 Allen Street, are calling it quits after 16 years.  Here’s what they have to say in a note attached to the window and posted online:

16 years ago, TienGarden embarked on a mission to pioneer the authentic Vegan diet. We witnessed the neighborhood change for the better. We now go further in our cause to improve your spiritual needs with TAO. Anyone with food creativity who would like to step in and take over the business that we left off, please inquire us.

Misrahi Realty has a listing up for the TienGarden space. The storefront is 750 sq.ft. The monthly rent is $6500/month — plus $100,000 down for this “turn-key restaurant.” The listing says “outdoor seating” and “liquor license (are) possible.”

TienGarden does not have a liquor license, so if a new operator wanted one, they would be starting from scratch with the State Liquor Authority and Community Board 3.
