Power Punk Trio “Missy Sport” Debuts Album at Fontana’s Tonight

Must Read

When Lo-Down Music Contributor Ken Beasley isn’t playing flamenco guitar, writing music and lyrics for his folk-roots-rock band Ken Beasley & Co. or reporting back to us about other fantastic musicians, he spends his time as lead guitarist of the power-punk three-piece band known as Missy Sport. Beasley tells us “the Sport” hails from a random basement on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, “with musical roots sunk deep in the guts of dirty 1980s punk rock.”

Influenced by the likes of the Red Aunts, Sex Pistols and Tito Puente, the trio is excited to offer up their recently completed album, “We Put Out,” which includes (loud) songs about everything from “jealousy felt over a mexican food order to waking up with bloody knuckles and having no recollection as to why.”  They’ll be celebrating the release of the album with a show at Fontana’s tonight.  Join the fun and make sure to grab your very own copy of “a 7-inch piece of hot-pink vinyl packed tight with 12 original tracks.” $7 // 8pm // 105 Eldridge St.
