From this morning’s in-box: State Senator Daniel Squadron will be joining Ed Koch at a midday news conference to call on the Senate to make government reform its first order of business in the new legislative session.
Earlier this year, 53 out of 62 senators, including Squadron, signed Koch’s pledge to fight for ethics, budget and redistricting reform in Albany. Squadron, who represents Lower Manhattan and sections of Brooklyn, has made ethics reform a major priority.
His counterpart in Albany, State Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, declined to sign the pledge (which has made Koch very cranky).
The news conference takes place at 12:15pm on the steps of City Hall.
