After a successful first season this past year, WQXR and WNYC’s Greene Space have teamed up with City Park’s SummerStage for this year’s Battle of the Boroughs Talent Quest 2011. They write: The Greene Space’s Battle of the Boroughs is open to submissions frombands, ensembles, instrumentalists, vocalists, DJs and spoken word artists. All genres are welcome! A line-up of several acts from each borough will be selected to perform at The Greene Space, culminating in a final round with winners from each borough. The ultimate winner will receive a featured concert in The Greene Space – performing in front of a live studio audience as well as audiences worldwide via a live video webcast – and an opening act slot at a SummerStage concert in 2011!
You will win a featured concert in The Greene Space that will be videocast live on www.thegreenespace.org and an opener for a headliner at a SummerStage concert, to be held in the summer of 2011. You will also receive a HD DVD of your performance and broadcast quality audio recording in addition to a professional photo shoot of your performance to support your creative evolution. Get your act together and submit your masterpiece by December 31st.
