This afternoon, we’re pleased to debut our brand new events calendar. Several weeks ago, we removed our old calendar, which was constantly getting attacked by spam and really didn’t meet the needs of our readers. The new calendar is a lot easier to read and to use. We hope it will become a destination for anyone looking for information about community, arts and entertainment events on the Lower East Side.
Neighborhood organizations already let us know what they’ve got coming up, usually by emailing us at tips@thelodownny.com. The new calendar allows anyone to “self-submit.” Generally speaking, we’ll approve all community meetings. Arts & entertainment offerings will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Any event occurring on the Lower East Side or relevant to the LES is eligible. In most cases, we will not be able to publish class schedules and walking tours.
