In the news, thanks to DNA evidence police say they’ve solved a 1993 rape case. Yesterday a 46-year old man was charged in connection with the robbery and assault of a young woman (16 years old at the time), as she was entering her apartment building on Eldridge Street.

The Post, followed by the Observer, speculates about the dwindling stock of rent controlled apartments in New York City.
