Thursday, July 22:

The Educational Alliance will host “Full Metal Mamas,” a comedy event on their rooftop featuring four sassy ladies who “pack school lunches during the day and do standup comedy at night.”  $15 pre-register, $18 at the door // 7pm //  197 East Broadway.

Artlog teams up with the New York Observer, the LES B.I.D., and the New Museum to host the Collect LES Artlog Crawl. The event will include special events and discounts to local businesses, access to almost 30 galleries and after party happy hours at local bars.  $20 // 6:30pm // Check-in at New Museum and/or Woodward Gallery.

Friday, July 23:

The New Museum will screen Toute la Mémoire du Monde (All the memory of the world), a 1956 documentary short film by by soon-to-be “New Wave” film-maker Alain Resnais. The film is a portrait of the Bibliothéque Nationale in Paris. Artist Julieta Aranda and invited guests Judi Werthein and Adam Kleinman to lead a discussion following the film. Saturday, July 24:

It’s Zero Waste Weekend at the Hester Street Fair. The trendy market is teaming up with The Lower East Side Ecology Center to offer electronics recycling, fabric and clothing recycling and compost lessons. FREE //  10a-6p // Corner of Essex St. and Hester St.

The New Museum is hosting their Block Party 2010, a day of art activities and performances, at Sara D. Roosevelt Park. FREE // 12-5p // Below Delancey at Chrystie Street.

Sunday, July 25:

It’s the last weekend for Stanton Street Summer Sundays. The Lower East Side B.I.D. hosts an afternoon of family friendly activities including face-painting, a skateboarding lessons and interactive games with the Museum at Eldridge Street. FREE // 12-5p // Stanton Street, between Allen and Ludlow.

Monday, July 26:

The Tenement Museum‘s Tenenment Talks series will present a foodalicious panel discussion on “Food Fusion” with local LES chefs/business owners Eddie Huang (BaoHaus, Xiao Ye), Christina Seid (Chinatown Ice Cream Factory) and Mark Israel (The Doughnut Plant) . Jenny 8. Lee, New York Times writer and author of The Fortune Cookie Chronicle, moderates. FREE // 6:30p // 108 Orchard St.
