Make Music New York Takes Over the Streets for the First Day of Summer

Make Music New York is celebrating it’s fourth year of taking over the streets on the first day of summer.  Free concerts in public spaces throughout the five boroughs of New York City will be taking place all day from 11am – 10p tonight. Visit their site here for an impressive list of live music happening throughout the Lower East Side. Highlights include music on the Allen Street Pedestrian Island beginning at 4p, and a free rooftop concert at the Educational Alliance with the eclectic Shul Band (which plays regularly at the The Shul at Angel Orensanz) followed by the JP Bowersock Quintet. (Bowersock is former Ryan Adams and the Cardinals’ guitarist; known at the Strokes “Guru.”) FREE // 6-8p // 6th floor rooftop – 197 E. Broadway.
