The New Amsterdam Market doesn’t return to the South Street Seaport until June 27th. But you’ll get a taste of what’s to come Saturday at the New York Marble Cemetery on 2nd Avenue. The City of Merchants fundraiser supports the Market and features all kinds of wholesome foods from local purveyors. See more information here.

From The Lo-Down in-box: DessertTruck Works is offering a deal you can’t refuse: free food! On Thursday from 11am-11pm, they’ll be serving up their award-winning chocolate bread pudding or a scoop of icecream or sorbet. DessertTruck Works is located at 6 Clinton Street, just below Houston.

And via Lox Populi, we learn Russ & Daughters is gearing up for New Catch Holland Herring season, beginning June 8th. There will be a special event at the Astor Center featuring WD 50 chef Wylie Dufresne and music from John Zorn.
