Jennifer 8. Lee, author of The Fortune Cookie Chronicles (and former NY Times columnist), will be speaking at The Educational Alliance on Wednesday evening at 7:00pm. Lee traveled the world in a quest to answer such questions as “Who is General Tso and why do we eat his chicken? Why do Jews eat Chinese food on Christmas? And who really invented the fortune cookie?” While exploring the world of the American Chinese food industry, her journey eventually led to some in depth insight on large social and cultural subjects such as identity, immigration and nutrition.
