Here’s the latest on the Grand Street fire. This morning, a sidewalk shed is going up between Allen and Chrystie Streets, in preparation for the demolition of 283 and 285 Grand. The Medical Examiner plans to conduct an autopsy today on 87-year old Hing So, whose body was removed from 285 Grand last night. It appears likely the area will be largely inaccessible for weeks — endangering many businesses who were already struggling under the weight on the economic downturn. We’ll have more later today.
