The Surprising History of the Bagel – at Tenement Talks This Thursday

Journalist and BBC radio editor Maria Balinska will be discussing her book, The Bagel: The Surprising History of a Modest Bread, at Tenement Talks this Thursday at the Tenement Museum. Balinska’s research discovers the staple New Yorkers love to claim as their own has origins from as far away as southern Italy and Muslim northwest China.
