Members from The Paul Taylor Dance Company's sister company, Taylor 2, will be celebrating the recent move to our neighborhood with a FREE performance this Sunday at Abrons Art Center, at 2:00pm. The intimate six-member ensemble, was formed in 1993 to bring the signature November 2nd, 2009
The community boards prepare lists, ranking (from 1 to 25) a wide range of projects and initiatives they would like to see funded in the next fiscal year. Number 6 on this year's proposed list: restoring the cabaret units, which were largely phased out last year. CB3's funding request said: "Bar owners have reported that continued relationships with experienced police allow them to work with (the Police Department) and report problems without fear of negative consequences. This protects the businesses and promotes public safety." But McWater lobbied to push the request far down on the list, and he succeeded. The USS New York Campaign '09 one day to go: Bill Thompson, Margaret Chin and other key Democrats on tomorrow's ballot will hold a 4:30pm rally in Chatham Square today. Mayor Bloomberg paid a visit to the crew of the USS New York yesterday, the Navy's brand new ship made from 7 tons of World Trade Center steel. According to the Times, "he told one reservist from the Lower East Side that his daughter also lives there. He signed some hats and posed for pictures." |
