Finance Board Rejects Gerson Appeal

CCD1 elections logo A short time ago, the NYC Campaign Finance Board released the following statement:

The Campaign Finance Board… decided on a Rule 5-02(a) petition filed by 2009 City Council candidate Alan
Gerson (CD #1) to challenge a determination of nonpayment at the Board’s
September 2 meeting.  The Board denied the petition, affirming the

  • But, gee whiz, George Artz and Gerson swore up and down they would be getting the campaign money, that it was just a ‘minor’ error.
You know, like the ‘minor’ error on his petitions that kept Gerson off the ballot for four weeks.
And the ‘minor’ error than took him off the absentee ballots.
And the ‘minor’ error that many of the people he claimed endorsed him in today’s Downtown Express in fact haven’t.
And the ‘minor’ error…oh well, why go on?
