The New Museum is hosting a free BLOCK PARTY on Sunday from noon to 7pm at the Sara D. Roosevelt Park on Broome St. between Chrystie and Forsyth. Enjoy a range of artist- and educator-led interactive projects, programs, and live performances related to the neighborhood and New Museum, and join the Block Party Parade in a “raucous processional marching along the Bowery to the New Museum”.  Participants receive a complementary guest pass to visit the New Museum on the day of the event.

The HOT! Festival continues this weekend with:

Salome – A Veiled Threat at The Living Theatre on Clinton St. An evening of multi media cabaret style performance exploring the myth of Salome
through the use of theater, dance, live music, film, puppetry and
burlesque (all served up by a “gaggle of trannies”).

New music by John Kelly and Carol Lipnik performed as a work-in-progress with interactive video footage inspired by Baroque paintings at Dixon Place on Sunday at 9pm.

Director Gadi Harel will be on hand for the midnight movie premiere of Deadgirl at the Sunshine Cinema on Friday and Saturday.

“Biodegradable
Hero”, starring local editor, author and performer Yori Yanover has been extended.
The show, which is performed at  Broadway Comedy Club, has added the following dates: Sundays, July 26, Aug. 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 @ 5 p.m. Cameo apperances: Meshuganeh Comedy, Thursdays, Aug. 6 & 27 @ 10 p.m.
